test listening

Listening test
Some tester claims that performing listening test is easy, but the other testers say listening test is hardly. Moreover to comprehend. According to my experience, 80% to 90% students of junior high school fail to listen and retell what they have heard. Therefore, the goals of my writing is to help tester ( teacher ) prepare the listening test easier to follow. Here are the steps that teacher can use ;

First, determine competency standard as stated in an English curriculum
Second, determine the basic competency as stated in an English curriculum
Third, specify the basic competency into specific one
Fourth, provide example through the items’ test

A. Competency Standard
Comprehending the meaning of the spoken text in a various kind of daily communication terms, such as ; narrative, descriptive, etc.

B. Basic Competency
Discovering main idea, specific information, and direct instructions

C. Format test
1. Students are able to determine the best response to the given situation.
Teacher’s Voice : I’m very tired
Students worksheet :
a. you’ll be promoted
b. you must work hard
c. you have a lot to do
d. you should take a rest
Key : D

2. Students are bale to choose the correct answer based on spoken text given

Teacher’s Voice : when did he first come?
Students worksheet :
a. as he did
b. yes, he did
c. if he wanted to
d. two years ago
